Conservation and Reprography

OBJECTIVE

To preserve, restore and make copies of all public archives records that have historical value for the country especially to the homeland of Sabah. The materials include confidential records, letters of agreement, personal or organizational files, maps, pictures, audio tapes and many more. 

FUNCTION

The functions and roles of the Conservation and Reprography Division are in line with Sabah State Records and Archives Enactment No. Year 2008 which divided into four unit.

Restoration Unit

  • Carry out repairing and preservation of records and Public Archives using tissue repair or traditional repair methods.

Binding Unit

  • Handle binding works on original records and Public Archives and copies on books, newspapers and other important documents for permanent storage.

Reprography Unit

  • Microfilm records and Public Archives especially fragile ones to facilitate researchers. This unit also functions for taking photographs of historical places, buildings and events and subsequently providing copies of historical photographs for research and permanent storage purposes.

Unit PADU

  • Carry out scanning work using a scanning machine.
