Archives Resource Centre Section

FUNCTION

The functions and roles of the  Archives Resource Centre Section are in line with Sabah State Records and Archives Enactment No. Year 2007 which divided into four unit.

Repository Unit

  • To store, maintain and preserve public archives. 
  • Sorting and controlling the lending and return of public archives requested by researchers. 
  • Review and process public records received from the Acquisition Record Division. 

Reference Unit

  • To register and provide facility for Malaysian and foreign researchers.
  • Helping researcher in the search for public archival materials.
  • To offer scanning, photocopy and other services for public archival materials for researchers.
  • Selling books issued by the Sabah State Archives.

Archives Repository Unit

  • To provide a place to store library materials for staff and researcher's use. 
  • To provide and update the index catalog of materials library. 
  • To find and select newspaper clippings related to local history and which has the potential to be reference materials.
  • To buy books, journals or any reference material for staff use.
